A Day of Art Direction & Styling in the Studio. This hands-on workshop introduces participants to the fundamentals of art direction and styling within a controlled studio setting. Attendees were learing how to conceptualize, plan, and execute a visual narrative through styling, composition, lighting, and collaboration.

We opened the day by diving into the role of the art director - the person responsible for shaping the visual story. Alongside them, the role of the stylist bringing texture, depth, and personality to the frame. Together, they are translating abstract ideas into something tangible which is the most important element of any storytelling. There’s something electric about stepping into a studio before a shoot begins. The lights are still, the backdrop untouched, and the space feels full of possibility. This is where ideas take shape and where art direction meets styling, and concepts become images.

I've created this workshop to capture exactly that moment: the transformation from vision to reality. Participants experimented freely, layering pieces, adjusting details, and refining their vision. The process was hands-on, intuitive, and at times unexpected, exactly how creativity should be. The importance of the scenic elements, lighting set up and mood compostions, backdrops and set composition. What made this experience powerful wasn’t just the final images, it was the process.By the end, participants didn’t just leave with photos. They left with a new way of seeing.
