As a member of the Set Scenic production team for Gemstage Ltd. I had the privilege of helping bring the magical world of this Disney sequel to life. Our goal was to create a vibrant, immersive world that honoured the charm of the original film while introducing fresh, creative scenic elements.

Close collaboration with Gemstage Ltd. and Runaway Entertainment was instrumental in achieving a cohesive scenic look and feel. From bustling market towns to sleek New York houses, we worked meticulously to ensure every set detail transports viewers straight into our enchanted world.

One of the most rewarding parts of the project was painting finishes for bespoke hand props, furniture, and soft furnishings. This was a true blend of creativity and technical skill across the department. We created inspiration from previous Disney classics and delved into Art Nouveau motifs, weaving unique touches into every corner of the musical set.

To bring these ideas to life, we collaborated closely with talented teams of Prop Makers, Set Designers, Construction team and Production Managers. Design briefs kept everyone aligned on our shared vision, and cross department meetings helped us stay on track while juggling multiple large-scale sets during the musical set preperations.

Efficient workflow and an incredible network of suppliers allowed us to create everything from bold to disstresing effects, soft props and custom bespoke printed elements and exquisitely crafted special pieces. Set buyers scoured high and low for furniture and smalls that embraced aesthetic, while we transformed these finds into show-stopping creations.

Working on 101 Dalmatians was a rewarding experience. It was a chance to collaborate with some of the most talented people in the industry, and breathe new life into a beloved Disney world in a fresh and magical way.
